Condition for age as shown. 1863 CIVIL WAR LETTER & COVER 83RD OVI HAMILTON OHIO Louisiana Burning Property. The family typed this out but they didn't get the river right. I couldn't make it out also. Script of that period is sometimes hard to read. This is from the heirs of Private edwin m. imes of the 83rd ovi. IMES enlisted in the 83rd ovi april 22, 1862. IMES served in companies g and i under capt. john d. gary of seven mile ohio. the 26 year old private was mustered out in july 1865 in galveston, texas, as a member of company i. he died in 1915, a resident of s. ninth st. in hamilton ohio and is buried in greenwood cemetery hamilton.
